Course Selection Information Session for Students with a Period 1 spare/lunch

Date:  Tuesday January 22, 2013

Time:  Period 1 – 9:00

Location:  Library

Grade 8 Open House: Our annual Grade 8 Open House was held in the evening on Monday, January 14, 2013.  Over 700 parents and students attended the evening.  In addition to the information session held in the cafeteria and led by the Guidance Department and our student leaders, departments had interesting displays around the building. Thank you to our School Council Co-Chairs, our Student Leaders and all Staff who helped to make the evening a great success.

Drama Mosaic: On Thursday evening students and parents enjoyed the grade 9 Dramatic Arts classes’ production of “Skin” and the grade 12 Production class’ performance of “A Bad Day in Javaland,” which was both student written and directed. Both these performances were outstanding. It was evident that our students had spent many long hours preparing for their final performances. Congratulations to the cast and crew of the grade 9 and grade 12 classes.

School Council: This week at our School Council meeting parents and guardians received a very informative presentation about Course Selection and the Career Cruising program. In addition our School Council examined data from the 2012 Parent Survey and provided the Administration with some feedback and ideas to help support our school community. Minutes from the School Council meeting will be posted in February.

10th Anniversary Meeting: Are you interested in helping to plan our 10th Anniversary celebration? If so, please join us at our planning meeting on Wednesday February 6th at 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the library. All are welcome to attend
