NOTES TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS   

Trudeau Student Takes Gold at Pan American Games: We are very pleased to announce that two weeks ago at the 9th Pan American Games held in Mexico, Phillip Wong a grade 11 student won 2 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal in Wushu, a form of martial arts. Congratulations Phillip we are very proud of your achievements!

Scary Movie Night Supports Local Food Bank: This week our Free the Children club collected donations for the Markham Food Bank  by hosting “Halloween for Hunger,” a movie night where admission was given to those who brought at least three non-perishable food items. Our students collected more than 300 food items to be donated to those in need.

Diwali Celebrations Begin: Today Trudeau began our celebration of Diwali by enjoying dancing and other performances from our Tamil Student Association Diwali, the Festival of Lights is a celebration that signifies the renewal of life and is a joyous time for families and friends. This year Diwali is being observed on November 13th.

Students at School on Weekends:Many of you may know that our school is used a great deal throughout the week during the evening and on weekends. Students will often stay after-school to study or complete group work in the cafeteria and are welcome to do so until 6:00 p.m. Please know that supervision is not provided on weekends or during the week after 6:00 p.m. Students must not come to the school on Saturday or Sunday to study or do homework. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Linkewich via e-mail.
