NOTES TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Excellent Achievement in the Business Competition:  We are so proud of our business students for earning top achievement in the 2012 OBEA (Ontario Business Educators Association) competition. Congratulation to Kemen Wong who placed 3rd place in the province in the Poster Contest, Michelle Chang and Connie Sung for placing 2nd in the province in Desktop Publishing Jr. Contest, and Kristen Wong who earned a 3rd place standing in the Sports, Entertainment, and Fashion Marketing Contest.

Trudeau Athletic Council (TAC) Spirit Wear Sales: Our athletic council will be selling hoodies, track pants and tee shirts with school logos in period 2, 3 and 4 in the cafeteria from October 15th to 19th.  Prices and order forms are available from our school website.

TLC an Amazing Experience: Last weekend more than 120 students participated in this year’s Trudeau Leadership Camp at Cedar Glen. This year’s “Lights, Camera, Action” theme helped students to develop their resiliency and leadership skills and worked together to show their Trudeau spirit through their cheering, skits and talents. Congratulations to the TLCC organizing team: Emanuel Mastrangelo, Yelim Oh, Brian Huang, Sydney Lung, Chantal Kipfer, Ragave Ilaalagan, Mike Wu, Nisha Malhotra, Janani Thillainathan, Roshni Khemraj, Ingrid Yuen and Wilson Wu for creating such a great leadership weekend for our students.

Senior Boys Volleyball Wins Tournament: Congratulations to our Senior Boys Volleyball Team who beat our six others teams to win the Stouffville Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Thursday. After a 5-1 record in preliminary play they beat Stouffville High School in the finals!

College Mini Fair at Trudeau: The Guidance department is hosting a college panel presentation and mini fair on October 15, from 12:15 – 1:30. The colleges coming are Seneca, Centennial, George Brown, Georgian, Sheridan and Humber. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to hear about the programs available and to talk to individual college representatives. Students who have a class during this time period may pick up an in school field trip form from the Guidance Office.

West Parking Lot Traffic:  We recognize that there is a great deal of traffic at both the beginning and the end of the school day, especially during inclement weather. We ask that all drivers who drop-off and pick up their children in the west parking lot, continue to drive north and around the traffic circle to leave the school parking. Please DO NOT make a U-Turn anywhere on school property or on Bur Oak Avenue. It is unsafe for our students and other drivers.  Thank you for your help in keeping our school safe.

Community Involvement: Our students are very involved in the community and complete thousands of Community Involvement hours each year. As such there will often be a delay between the time that they submit their Community Hours to the Guidance office and the time these hours appear on weekly attendance updates. We appreciate your patience with this. The official record of Community Hours is available on the Midterm and Semester End Report Card
